Credit Hours


This course is offered each Fall and Spring semester.  Upon successful completion the student will receive 16 college credit hours.

MONDAY CLASS/LAB: 7:30 - 1:20
TUESDAY LAB/CLINICAL: 7:00 - 3:20
WEDNESDAY LAB/CLINICAL: 7:00 - 3:20
THURSDAY CLASS/LAB: 7:30 – 1:50
FRIDAY CLASS/LAB: 7:30 – 1:50

CLINICAL:
BEGINS THE 5th WEEK OF THE SEMESTER
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY 7:00 – 3:20

                         

Clinical Sites


Clinical areas used include long-term care facilities and hospitals in the Meridian area.  The student will be responsible for transportation to and from the clinical sites.

 

Certification


Upon completion of the program the student will receive a certification of completion from MCC.  Completion of this state approved training program makes the student eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program Examinations.  This NNAAP Examination consist of both a Written Examination and a Skills Evaluation.  The purpose of the NNAAP Examination is to make sure that you understand and can safely perform the job of an entry level nurse aide.  You must pass both parts in order to be certified and listed on the Mississippi Nurse Aide Registry.  This certification makes you eligible to work in any long term care facility, hospital, hospice or home health agency in the state of Mississippi.  You will also be eligible to apply for reciprocity to work in another state.
