All students must meet the college "General Admission" requirements as outlined in the MCC College Catalog. An Application for Admission must be completed by May 1.
To be eligible to enter the Dental Assisting program, you must:
Score a 17 or better composite score on the ACT
Score 70 or above on the MCC ACCUPLACER reading section and a 60 or above on the arithmetic section (ACCUPLACER is given free of charge at MCC Admission office for information about this test, go to http://www.accuplacerpractice.com)
Complete 15 semester hours with a "C" average or above at an accredited college or university with six of the hours being awarded in English Composition I (ENG 1113) and Public Speaking (SPT 1113);
have a cumulative GPA of 2.00 ("C" average) on all previous college coursework,
Attend a DAT information session. Students will receive notice from the Admission Office about scheduling their information session.
Check with the Admissions Office and/or the Health Education Advisor, Rachel Robertson (601) 484-8629 for information session dates, selection details, and deadlines. Program admission is a competitive process. An essay and interview will be completed at the information session.
