Nail Tech Class



Meridian Community College offers a Nail Technician class for those students who are interested in pursuing a career working with nails.  This one semester class prepares students to care for nails with emphasis on hygiene, sanitation, customer relations, and salon management. Per Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology, students are required to complete 350 clock hours (85 classroom theory hours and 265 supervised skill preparation and clinic work hours).  Upon successful completion of the program, the student will receive a certificate and is eligible to take the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology Manicure/Nail Technician certification exam.

Prospective students must have either a high school diploma or their GED to enter into the program.

Meridian Community College offers a one semester, night-time program for Nail Technician certification. Class times are Monday – Thursday, 4:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Friday, 5  p.m. - 10 p.m.

NOTE:  Students who lack entry-level skills in Math, English, Science, etc. will be provided related studies.
