Fiber Optics / Copper Cabling


Fiber Optics is 30-hour class that provides students with a theoretical and hands-on knowledge of Fiber Optics.

Students will also learn:

  • basics of cable termination
  • testing and troubleshooting
  • terminate fiber optic cables and ST/SC connectors
  • perform a mechanical splice
  • calculate a system loss budget

Copper Cabling is a 40-hour class that provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to become certified entry-level technicians. 

Students will also learn:

  • proper tool and construction techniques
  • application of both construction and residential industry standards
  • introduction to networking both wired and wireless
  • troubleshooting and repair
