Workforce Development Training
Purpose of State Resources:
- To provide citizens of Mississippi the skills needed to be more
productive and have an improved quality of life
- To provide the employers of our state a better trained and educated workforce
- To train for higher skilled and higher wage jobs for existing business and industry in our state.
Services include:
• Computer training
• Advanced skills training
• Basic skills training
• Certification training
• Safety training
• The East Mississippi Public Safety Institute (Law Enforcement Training)
• Management training
• Customized training
• Job analysis
• Course Catalog
Financial assistance from the State Board for Community and Junior
Colleges is available for some services and classes, and professional
and technical assistance is often available from state resource pools.
In addition, a state income tax credit is available to business and industry
upon verification of training. Registration for all Workforce Development
classes is through Webb Hall.
