Internship for Educators

The Internship for Educators Program is in the process of being revamped due to the lack of participation for  the last two years. 

This Program offers a unique opportunity for teachers to gain knowledge of current workplace skills and needs. Administrators, teachers, and counselors, from Third grade through MCC, may participate in a five (5) day internship program which will allow exposure to all aspects of business and industry through a succession of experiences and assignments of special tasks.  The program focuses on intense training experiences and hands-on activities in the workplace environment.
 
CEU credit (up to 4.2) is available as well as compensation ($50.00 per day) to defray any cost associated with this professional development program. 

• All internships will last 5 days.  Four (4) days at the worksite and one (1) day at MCC.
• One (1) full day of Orientation (usually the first Thursday after teacher's last day in May) CEUs are included for orientation
• Day Five (5) will be one full day at MCC developing lessons or projects from the participants' interview/observation worksheets, that can be used in the classroom.  These lessons/projects will be compiled, sorted for grade appropriateness, and distributed to each school district.  A facilitator will be provided to aid in the professional design of these lessons and/or projects.
