EARLY CHILDHOOD TECHNOLOGY
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This program provides preparation for paid employment in occupations in child care and guidance at entry, assistant and management levels. The program includes classroom instruction and supervised laboratory/collaborative center experience. Students develop competencies that enable them to provide services, to teach and to guide preschool children as related to various child care occupations.
Topics included are the study of child growth and development, learning experiences for children, behavior guidance, cultural diversity, health/nutrition and safety, program planning and management, parent/child center relationships, child abuse and neglect, regulations and policies relating to child care services, interpersonal relationships and laws, physical motor development/activity and early intervention.
TO EARN LOCAL ARTICULATION CREDIT IN THE EARLY CHILDHOOD TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM, A STUDENT MUST:
