General Directions
This course is designed to be completed in one semester. The suggested time
schedule is shown on the "test schedule link". If you find you are falling
behind and will not finish the required material by the end of the semester, you
should make arrangements to spend extra time either in the classroom or the
Student Success Center.
If, at the end of the semester, you have not completed the required work, a
grade of 0 will be assigned for each non-completed chapter. Your semester grade
will then be calculated according to the grading scale for this
course.
For each required chapter:
- Study the required sections. Use the "checklist " for each chapter and ask
for help. You may find it helpful to have your instructor initial each
assignment as it is completed.
- Take the textbook Chapter Test at the end of the chapter and check your
own paper.
- Re-study the sections for any problems you did not work correctly on the
textbook Chapter Test.
- Turn in your "checklist" and your homework assignments when you feel you
are prepared to "test out" of the chapter. Points will be added to your
chapter test grade after the assignments have been checked and graded. This
work will remain in your folder and be returned to you at the end of the
semester before you take the final exam.
- If you do not obtain a test score of at least 70 on the test you will be
required to restudy the chapter before retesting. Each question on the
second test will be worth 1/2 of the possible points. If you are using
the computer generated testing program you will be limited to "3 tries" on
each test. Entering the testing program early "just to see" what is on the
test may mean you will be required to complete the free response test. There
are 28 different versions of the test but you will be limited to only three
different attempts to obtain a score of 70. Looking at the type of questions
early is considered "cheating".
