The Mission of the Meridian Community College Foundation is to provide leadership in attracting private investment to the College, to demonstrate exemplary stewardship whereby the College can strengthen its commitment to excellence, and to foster a better understanding of individual and corporate philanthropy.
The MCC Foundation established its innovative “Tuition Guarantee” for Meridian and Lauderdale County high school graduates in 1996. Financial support from the community covers the cost of tuition for these students. Its success is helping build the workforce of tomorrow and raising expectations among younger students that they can go to college. Thus far, The Foundation has invested more than 1.6 million dollars in the Tuition Guarantee. The MCC Foundation is continuing to build endowments, its Annual Giving Fund and its planned gift program. The Board of Directors is committed to supporting the College’s goal of becoming one of the nation’s best community colleges.
The MCC Foundation wants to involve alumni and friends as well as business leaders in creating a well-educated public and a highly trained workforce. The MCC Foundation believes planning for the future must begin with a vision. Those who become part of this vision through their generosity may never know whose lives are changed because of their gifts, but they can have the satisfaction of knowing they have changed lives for the better.
