MCC Loses Third Straight GameFrom School Reports The Meridian Community College Eagles finished the final
day of the 2012 Rush Invitational by losing its third straight game of the
weekend by a final score of 6-3 to Faulkner State. The Eagles dropped its
overall record to 4-7 for the season and will return to action Wednesday on
the road at Wallace-Selma. The doubleheader on Wednesday is scheduled for a
5 p.m. start. MCC finished the game with five hits and Wade Wass led
the way a solo home run. The home run for the Pensacola, FL native was his
sixth home run of the 2012 season. Johnny Tolson added an RBI on a sacrifice
fly and Kasey Hinton added a single in the loss for Meridian. Andrew Chesteen took the pitching loss for MCC by working
six innings and allowing three earned runs. Josh Hollingsworth took the win
on the mound for the Sun Chiefs and collected nine strikeouts. Corey Bryan
and Phillip McDuffie led Faulkner State at the plate with two hits apiece.
The Sun Chiefs finished the game with nine hits.
