MCC Baseball Adds Local Standout
From School Reports The Meridian Community
College baseball team has taken pride in signing some of the best local
prospects from the area and the Eagles added another player to that
impressive list. West Lauderdale senior infielder Grant Hill signed his
national letter of intent to continue his baseball career next season at
Meridian Community College. “It is always a pleasure to get a player from West Lauderdale because of the great job that Coach Boatner does in teaching the game of baseball to his guys,” said MCC head coach Chris Curry. “West Lauderdale has a great tradition of producing some of the best talent in our area and we are excited about this addition to our program.” Hill plays shortstop for
the Knights and handled the bat very well in his junior campaign by posting
a .383 batting average to lead West Lauderdale into the playoffs last
season. “He (Hill) is a real
hard-nosed player that can play several different positions and we feel that
he is the type of player that can help us continue our championship
tradition at Meridian,” added Curry. Meridian Community College
has three former West Lauderdale players on its roster heading into the 2012
season and those include: Wes Stokes, Dustin James, and Trey McPherson. |
